The red meat sector is slowly reaching the point whereby producers are being remunerated for these qualities. Through our considered use of genetics and nutrition we have improved the eating quality of the meat, thereby increasing value to our clients.
Kelly Angus has embraced the technology of genomics testing to further enhance EBV.s
We have used some Gardner Angus genetics in the herd. This has significantly contributed to building the Kelly Angus herd to what it is today; strong, deep bodied cows with frame scores of 5.5 to 6.5. Our focus is to breed soft deep bodied, well-tempered females that calve easily. Adherence to this breeding philosophy ensures all sires used will maintain and improve this status.
