2024 Autumn Bull Sale

THURSDAY 21 MARCH

The top-priced bull at Kelly Angus’ autumn sale has been described as “exceptional”, as it sits in the top one per cent for intramuscular fat while maintaining “oodles of muscle and power”.

McKenzie Ag Services principal Lachlan McKenzie, Bruanlea and Troah, Coleraine and Casterton, bought the top-priced bull, Lot 52, at Yea on Thursday, March 21.

The top bull, Kelly Angus T697, sold for $18,000 and was sired by Kelly Angus Ringleader R232 and out of Kelly Angus Trailblazer R31.

2023 Autumn Bull & Heifer Sale

*69 of 72 bulls sold to $32,000, av $7971.  *Total clearance of 20 females sold to $10,500, av $3579.

QUALITY cattle would still make good money despite the dip in the market, according to Kelly Angus, manager Patrick Joyce, Yea.

The top-priced bull, Lot 9, Kelly Angus Blue Bagger S425PV, by VLYN149 Lawsons Blue Bagger N149PV out of GXNP10 Kelly Angus Kodak P10SV, sold for $32,000.

2022 Autumn Bull & Heifer Sale

THURSDAY 24 MARCH

48/58 Bulls sold to a top of $26,000, Avg $9836.

KELLY ANGUS manager Patrick Joyce said the top bull, Kelly Angus Trailblazer R233 sold to local commercial producer Tim Rourke from Murrindindi and had been judged the best by most who attended the sale.

“This bull was a standout from the time he was a calf, is one of the best Trailblazer sons I have seen out of a very handy cow and has good numbers and good structure,” Mr Joyce said.

2021 Autumn Bull Sale

THURSDAY 25 MARCH

*Total clearance of 68 bulls sold to $14,000 (twice), av $7243.

KELLY Angus bulls were in demand at the stud’s second annual sale on-property at Yea last Thursday with bidding remaining strong throughout the catalogue to achieve a sale top of $14,000 twice and a full clearance of the 68 bulls offered.

A big crowd of mostly local buyers helped lift the stud’s average up by $2118 from last year’s inaugural sale to achieve an average of $7243.

2020 INAUGURAL AUTUMN BULL SALE

MURRUNDINDI-based stud Kelly Angus held its 2020 autumn bull sale last week, recording a total clearance of 48 bulls offered at stud’s inaugral on-farm sale.

A quick change of plans to accommodate the new COVID-19 restrictions saw the auction move completely online at the last minute with a dedicated group of commercial buyers and agents attending the sale to inspect the line-up of the 18-month-old bulls prior to auction.
